What is an Inchie?

What is an inchie? An Inchie is a 1" square of art. You can decorate it as you wish. Stamping, embellishing and colouring in any way you choose. On the reverse you write your name and the month and the year - not much room for anything else! Inchies are the current craze among crafters with various swaps taking place all over the place. The current TandaStamps inchie swap is currently in progress where you have to create 16 inchies to any theme you choose. This current swap closes on February 28th so if you want to join in hurry over to the Inchies Section of our Craft Forum. Many thanks to Angel (Burnice) for hosting our Inchie Swap.

The above images are inchies that have been created the for the above swap. The inchies on the left were created by Possum and the ones on the right by Lilybaby, I am sure you will agree that they are both fantastic works of art!

Lavender & Lace ATC Swap

Well it is freezing here in Bridport this morning but luckily today is pie day so we're all nice and warm again now. Forcasts over the next day or so are predicting snow so I am crossing my fingers that we actually get some down here this time!

The current ATC Monthly Swap running over at the TandaStamps Craft Forum is to the theme 'Lavender & Lace'. On the left is 1 of the creations I have sent in to the swap organiser, Wendy McGlinchey.

First off I just glued some lace (supplied by Tasha, ta very much) to a blank white ATC, to glue it I just used plain old pritt stick and it seems to have worked a treat. The word 'LACE' was stamped straight onto the lace and then tidied up with a black felt pen. The girl in the bottom left can be found in our Retro Women Set 1 stamp sheet and was stamped onto white card in a black ink, I then smudged some pinky/purple pastel chalks over it. The 3 little flowers were then applied with 3D foam pads.

Knight ATC

This ATC was created as a bit of a filler for our up and coming printed catalogue. Despite it's rushed finish I am really rather pleased with it! The background was created by smudging some pastel chalks on randomly with my fingers. The background stamp is the Tudor Rose - G191T which can be found in our Online Shop. The tudor rose was stamped with a brown Whispers Ink Pad randomly. The main image is the Proud Knight - D220P which was stamped in a black archival ink.

Once finished I scrunched the whole thing up and left it for about 30 minutes to try and give it that worn look, I think in future I will leave it a bit longer so the white tearing look would show through a bit better.

Burnice (Angel) from the TandaStamps Craft Forum has already laid claim to this particular ATC and a swap is iminent! Burnice tells me that 2 ATCs are en route to me so now all I have to do is endure the freezing cold to post this to her!

Special thanks to Sheila Oliver whos 'Husband Knight' creation was my inspiration for this particular ATC!
